The AGM  of the Skibbereen and District Historical Society will be held on Thursday, 26th February at 8:30 p.m. in the West Cork Hotel.  Members and non-members alike are encouraged to attend.  In addition to the usual business of the meeting we will look back on our activities of the past year and discuss possible events for the forthcoming year, ideas for which will be welcome.


The Skibbereen and District Historical Society

     The Society is based in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland.  The Society    was founded in January 2002, after two month's preparation, with the aim of encouraging interest in the history of West Cork and the Skibbereen area in particular.

    The Society organises talks on various historical topics, and these talks are normally held in the West Cork Hotel, Skibbereen, on the last Thursday of the month.  Field trips to historical sites are also organised during the summer.

    The Society is a voluntary non-profiting making organisation and is affiliated to the Federation of Local History Societies.
